Guys. Big news. Effective immediately, all orders for Ice Age Meals ship free. And here's why.
On this crazy frozen Paleo delivery meal train that's rocketing along at approximately one million miles per hour, the biggest hurdle has always been shipping. We told you before, shipping frozen food isn't easy. From packaging considerations like insulation and refrigerants to the importance of super speedy, super reliable delivery times, there are a lot of moving parts.
And maybe we should have paid more attention in chemistry class, but we were reminded very quickly that fewer frozen meals shipped in a cooler thaw much faster than a fully packed cooler. When we realized that our small orders - two, three, four meals ordered by folks who were willing to spend just as much on shipping as they were on the meals - were thawing far too rapidly over that one or two-day shipping period, we supplemented with more dry ice. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. After apologies and refunds and credits, we realized it boils down to an issue of mass. Since you can't fight chemistry, we're scouting out the best, most efficient, most functional packaging we can. But in the meantime, we're going to kill two birds with one stone.
Starting now - right now - all orders for Ice Age Meals will ship free. We're making that work with a new meal minimum for every purchase and a price uptick of up to around 80 cents per meal, depending on whether you choose to build a box or order a sampler.
Browse our meal options on our menu page, click into anything that catches your fancy for descriptions, ingredients and nutrition facts, and then consider your options. You can build a customized box of all your favorites in quantities of 14, 24 and 48, or browse our new samplers and leave the hard decision-making to us. Either way, your order ships free, fast and frozen solid - and we have no more issues with three thawed meals arriving on someone's doorstep.
Ice Age Meals is a purveyor of delicious frozen Paleo meals, but our Paleo + Rice line includes - wait for it - rice! Why rice? Here's why.
