We all have our To Do lists. Some are in our minds, some are written down, but we all have things we want TO DO.
The definition of the word action is: the fact or process of doing something, typically to achieve an aim.
I like that last part, to achieve an aim. An aim is like a goal. In order to accomplish a goal, we must take action.
I recently saw a simple graphic that hit me just right. It said, ACTION CHANGES THINGS. The acronym for this three word phrase is actually ACT.
I want to encourage you today to take action. When you are thinking about doing something, use these three words as your inspiration, because action truly does change things.
It takes discipline to take action. We prefer to wait because waiting is easy. We need all the help that we can get in order to take action. My buddy, Jim Rohn, says this:
“Take Action. Here’s the time to act: when the idea is hot and the emotion is strong.”
(Take action and listen to this compilation from Jim Rohn. IT WILL HELP YOU!)
The Bible has some basic words for people who don’t take action; sluggard, lazy, and fool are just a few of them. As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed. Proverbs 26:14 Getting out of bed is the perfect example of taking action vs. procrastinating.
There is a thing called The Law Of Diminishing Intent. We intend to when the idea strikes us, we intend to when the emotion is high. But, if we don’t translate that into action fairly soon, the intent starts to diminish and before we know it, a year has passed and the thought is still an idea.
Don’t be a waiter, be a gator who chomps up to do lists with 2,980 psi of force!!!
At Ice Age Meals, we’ve begun to put this concept into practice. Action has begun to change things and instead of telling you about what we are doing, we can’t wait to SHOW YOU!
Thank you for supporting our business, we appreciate awesome customers like you! I hope that today, in some way, this message hits home and that you begin knocking things off of your lists.
You are what you do, not what you say you’ll do. So, do the thing now, don’t wait for tomorrow! Take action, because ACTION CHANGES THINGS.
(Circa 1988, just before I took action and jumped in!)
