1. I’m local. What are my options?

You lucky local, you! Your best bet is coming in to the store on 4782 Caughlin Parkway, Suite 503. We're all the way on the right if you're facing the Scolari's, kind of tucked behind the Wells Fargo, so keep looking! We love people, and we hope you'll come check things out and chat with us. You’ll also save money by coming to the store. 

If you don't have time to hang out, just call us at 775-499-5115 and we'll take your order right over the phone. Then we’ll prep it and have it all ready to go when you pick it up. Heck, we’ll even offer curbside service if that appeals to you. Just call us when you pull up, and we’ll run your meals out to you.

Shipping Info

1. Where do you ship?

Ice Age Meals will ship to all 50 US states. Today, America. Tomorrow, the world.

2. When does my order ship?

All orders are typically processed in two to three business days. We know it’s hard to wait, but we promise – it’s worth it.

3. What does shipping cost?

Shipping is fast and now free on every single order.

4. Will you ship my meals overnight?

You bet. We have great shipping rates and can ship meals Next Day Air. If you absolutely cannot wait and Next Day Air has your name written all over it, contact us.

5. Will you ship my meals to a hotel?

Totally. We get it, you’re a traveling professional and you need something great to eat on the road. Order today, and we’ll make sure your meals are waiting for you when you arrive.

6. When can I expect my meals to arrive after ordering?

All orders are delivered within two days of leaving our freezer. You’ll get tracking information when your meals are out the door so you can watch the progress of your delivery.

7. How many meals are shipped in a single container?

We have three box sizes. Our smallest box holds 14 meals, our medium box holds 24 meals, and our large box holds 48 meals. It’s better for you, for us, and for the planet to fill up a box when we ship it, and that's why we've switched to a minimum order.

8. How is frozen food shipped?

Good question! Shipping frozen perishables isn't like shipping a pair of shoes. Your meals are carefully packed in a Styrofoam cooler with dry ice to keep everything frozen. If the dry ice in your cooler hasn’t sublimated (ahem, changed from a solid to a gas), please wear gloves when you’re unpacking all your goodies. We recommend transferring your meals to the freezer immediately and saving the cooler for another use. Reduce, reuse, recycle, you know?

9. I made a mistake on my order! Can I change it?

It's our goal to turn your order around ASAP, so there isn't much wiggle room if you've made a mistake during the ordering process. Please call us immediately at 844-ICE-AGE-1 and we'll see what we can do. If you entered your address incorrectly, we can attempt to re-direct to the right address. Please note, there is a $20 re-direct charge if we can make it happen.

Details on the Meals

1. Is the meat in my meals organic or grass-fed?

We start with the best ingredients so we can make the best meals. While not every ingredient is organic, we do use organic turkey in our Chipotle Turkey Chili and organic coconut milk in the meals that include those ingredients. None of our ingredients are GMO.
All of our beef is grass-fed, and our fowl is pasture-raised. Our beef and turkey are locally sourced from Durham Ranch and Diestel Farms. Durham Ranch makes us a proprietary blend of 92/8 ground beef and our tri-trip is trimmed and naturally low-fat.
And here’s our promise – we make a constant effort to upgrade our ingredients at every opportunity. As we do so, look for up-to-date ingredient lists shared here and on our social media channels.

2. Are Ice Age Meals gluten free?

You bet. All of our Ice Age Meals are gluten free!

3. Are Ice Age Meals dairy free?

Lactose intolerant? Fear not. All Ice Age Meals are 100% free of dairy.

4. Are there eggs in my meals?

Some, but not all, of our meals have eggs. We use eggs in the following: Chorizo and Eggs, Deep Dish Breakfast Pizza, Thai Meatball Curry, Mexican Meatballs with Calabacitas and Pastel de Papa.

5. Do you use preservatives?

No way. That’s the beauty of frozen meals! The freezer is the preservative. All of our meats go from ten below to ten below within 24 hours. We thaw, cook, portion and re-freeze within 24 hours. We also make it our goal to use preservative-free ingredients.

6. Do you use sodium?

Yes. We use kosher salt in our meals. We don’t use an excess of sodium – our meals are naturally flavorful. We use just enough to make the food tasty and invoke what we call “Cave Crave,” which is your instinct to dive in for another bite.

7. What are the portion sizes for Ice Age Meals?

Each meal is four blocks according to the Zone diet, and they’re around 500 calories apiece. Portion size will vary depending on your body composition and activity level – we’ll leave that to you to figure out. Our meals weigh between 16 and 18 ounces each.

8. Do you have breakfast, lunch and dinner options?

We’re advocates of eating any meal at any meal. It keeps you nutritionally on track when you lose the labels, you know? But if you like everything in its place, we have two options that qualify as breakfast and the rest would be considered either lunch or dinner.

9. Where can I find nutritional details for my meals?

Each meal has the macronutrient breakdown listed on the package. You’ll also find them on our website and brochure if you’re shopping before buying. The majority of our meals are balanced to the Zone diet – 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat. 

10. What is the shelf life of an Ice Age Meal?

The beauty of frozen meals? Longevity! If you’re tossing Ice Age Meals into your home freezer, they can hang out in there three months, no problem. We do recommend deep freezers, where your Ice Age Meals will keep six to twelve months. Try one, and you won’t have to worry about how long they’ll last in your freezer – just making sure you never run out.

11. My meal is supposed to have sweet potatoes but these are yams! What gives?

Hey, good catch. We use yams and sweets interchangeably according to availability. Whatever is the freshest, that’s what we use. 

12. How often do you change your menu?

We have an endless line of meals in development, so stay tuned! 

13. Can I make substitution/deletions to the ingredients in my meals?

Nope. Our team of Culinary Ninjas prepares our meals in small batches, but our recipes are dialed in. You can check ingredients for every meal before you buy - we list ingredients here on the website on individual meal pages and on meal packaging too. Unfortunately, we just can't accommodate requests for substitutions or deletions to what goes into your meals.

15. I got my meals and now I want to return them. Can I do that?

Due to the nature of the business, meals that have been received cannot be returned. We rarely hear from people who don't enjoy our meals, so we hope you'll give them a try.

16. What if I don't want to order 14 meals? Can I order just a few to try them out?

We were able to offer free shipping across the board by moving to a minimum order of 14 meals. Unfortunately, that means you can't order three meals just to try them out. Take a leap of faith and enjoy free shipping (and really great food) for being so brave.

Here's another important point - orders of 14, 24 and 48 meals fit perfectly into our boxes. Fully-packed boxes mean your meals arrive frozen solid, and it's better for you, for us, and for the planet to fill up a box when we ship it.

17. How consistent are your meals? Will my meals always taste the same?

We mention above that our recipes are dialed in, but what we can't control is the flavor of our veggies. Depending on the season, you might be surprised to learn that produce like sweet potatoes and yams can offer a range of sweetness. We have great relationships with our vendors, and all of our produce is very high quality. Still, there can be some flavor variations from one batch of meals to the next based solely on the seasonality of our veggies. We can't even blame the farmers for this one!

18. Do I have room in my freezer for 14 Ice Age Meals?

We sure hope so! Each meal measures 65/8” long by 5” wide and 2 1/4” high, and they stack perfectly for easy storage.

Eco Questions

1. I’m nervous about the plastic heating up in the microwave. Is it safe?

If you’re concerned, dump everything into an oven or microwave-safe dish and reheat it that way. It’ll taste great either way. We even have an old tutorial, “Cold to Gold in Ten Minutes or Less,” that shows you how to heat these babies up with no microwave or oven at all. Watch and learn.

2. Is your packaging recyclable? Is your production process eco-friendly?

Yes! We’re huge advocates of all things green. The cardboard sleeve and black container are both recyclable – we even have some folks who send the sleeves back to us for reuse. In the kitchen, we repurpose tin cans – you’ll see them in our event booths.
We do what we can, where we can. We hope you do too. So repurpose what you can, recycle what you can’t use and be mindful of what you’re throwing away.

Troubleshooting & Miscellaneous

1. My package arrived damaged, what do I do?

Oh no! Don't worry, we'll make it right. Just contact us now and let's get this sorted out.

2. I left a meal in the fridge for three days. Is it safe to eat?

Always err on the side of safety when it comes to food. Remember the beauty of the frozen meal? Longevity! If your meal was frozen, it’s going to take two days to defrost in the fridge anyway. If you’re pushing four days, well, you be the judge. Keep your meals in the freezer until you’re ready to eat, and if they’re defrosting in the fridge, don’t forget about them.

3. Can I get a discount for ordering in bulk?

You bet. If you’re looking to order more than 100 meals, please contact us and we’ll work with you for the best deal. We get shipping discounts at 100 pounds, and we’re happy to pass along savings.

4. Is there a minimum purchase order?

Yes. All orders must include a minimum of 14 meals, and you're free to build a box of all (or just one) of your favorites. You can also leave the decision making to us and go with a sampler.

We switched to a minimum purchase order for two reasons - everyone gets free shipping this way, and we don't run into issues with premature thawing, which is a potential pitfall when we used to ship two, three or four meals at a time.

If you're a little worried about ordering so many meals, buck up. We recommend giving it a go with a varied selection of meals. You’ll be back for more before you know it.

5. I need these meals in the break room at my gym/agency/store/whatever. Can we make that happen?

Oh yeah, we can make that happen.
